Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: London

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 (on experience)

UKR is currently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, on behalf of our client, a family run and owned company with over 25 years’ experience in the Construction Industry, responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of their construction projects.

About the company:

Our client undertakes a range of demolition services tailored to the requirements of domestic and commercial projects throughout the UK. Our client focuses on achieving dynamic and innovative construction solutions for the clients and are always just a call away. Services include:  -Site establishment and enabling works -Ground works -Concrete frame -Basements -Piling -Demolition

Responsibilities include:

  • Allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of the construction
  • Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure their proposals will work
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules
  • Allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of the construction
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
  • Advise on a procurement strategy
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Value completed work, oversee bills and arrange payments
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

 

To be successful for this role you must have:

 

  • Methodical way of thinking
  • Good knowledge of construction
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • A clear understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines
  • Computer literate

Qualifications:

  • The successful applicant will ideally have a recognised Quantity Surveying qualification at HND level or higher with 3 years’ experience in a QS role preferably working within the Groundworks & RC frame sector.
  • Working knowledge of contracts, estimating, surveying
  • Qualification at HND Level or higher
  • 3 years’ experience

The company are happy to discuss individual requirements based on experience but are looking to offer: • £70,000 – £90,000 (on experience)
